Do you want Fambit in your own language?

Fambit in your own language? You can help!

We have set up a community-based translation site. Anyone can help in translating Fambit to new languages. You can contribute just 5 minutes or help translating translate larger words to full sentences). We hope several native speakers to participate in each translation.

*Instructions*

1) Please first create an account and tune your personal profile in the translation tool: http://www.getlocalozation.com

2) Then go to address http://getlocalization.com/fambit and log-in as a Getlocalization user. PLEASE, click the log-in link, see image (the log-in in the upper right corner does not lead you to Fambit)

3) Select a language on-progress or create a new language. All the translations will be done from English.
You will will be directed to a page like the image below:

Select a string in English from the left and write your translation on the text field "Enter your translation" and press "Save & Go Next". Or, you can modify an existing translation. The "Context explained" text tries to explain where the string appears in Fambit. It may be a bit cryptic but eg. "form_btn_add" implicates that the word appears on the button in a fill-in form.

There is one special coding that needs to be taken into account. When there is a word starting with a @-sign in the string to be translated, the word should be copied as is. Fambit dynamically replaces these strings with usernames, family-names, etc. It may be easiest to copy&paste these strings to the translation field first and then replace all the words not starting with @. E.g. the string "@user added @member to family @family." has been translated to Finnish as "@user lisäsi jäsenen @member perheeseen @family." Same applies to the & -sign: "0 & euro;" translates to "0 & euro;" in any language

4) We have a collection of keywords and expressions used in Fambit in a vocabulary file, click the link. It probably helps you since you see a cross reference of a keyword translated in the existing Fambit languages. Please add your language and start proposing corresponding translations to those keywords.

5) When each string has at least one translation, you can review the proposed translation. Give a thumb-up if you find the translation is OK.
