Wall?

How to hang Fambit on the kitchen wall? Any recommendations for tablet devices? Or is the fabled iPad the chosen one?

    silly I’m curious
What I've heard being used is an old laptop, next to the fridge in the kitchen.

iPod could be a nice. Really sticking it on a wall makes it more a read-only device, writing is probably not much fun. And you need to charge the device anyway. I'm not familiar with anything that would be fun to use when really hanged on a wall. (Is there?) Big screen size is valuable if the device is not held in a hand.

We have played with the idea of using Chumby, the €99 price tag makes it an interesting device. It would make a nice exhibition demo. But the screen is a bit small, one needs to look pretty close to the Chumby to see if there is new content. We would need to make a carousel view to fit enough data in. Needs some experimentation to figure out if that would actually be useful.

We probably will start with creating an RSS feed of the Fambit content and experiment with different devices.

For most people, the choice could be to print the family calendar and use a magnet to put it on the fridge door... And when needed, copy the changes marked with a pen to a computer. :)

    happy I’m excited
I just came across this http://www.insigniaproducts.com/conne... and liked it a lot. Sony Dash is another such device.

The Infocast does not fit on a wall and is a bit bulky. But for $170 seems like good trade off. The 8" display is big enough that you can glance it without holding the device.

If these devices become popular, we will support those.
